New Children’s Books!

The Monroe Community Library has received a Collection Development Grant from the Bates College Diverse BookFinder, in partnership with the Brooks Foundation and Maine Humanities Council. The $300 grant made possible the purchase of picture books—both fiction and non-fiction—offering a broad view of children’s traditions and life experience. Children will see themselves reflected in these colorful stories that also open windows onto the wider world.

An additional generous donation of new books for children and young adult readers makes this a great time for children and teens to visit the Library!

Second Saturdays!

Beginning Saturday, February 12th, the Library will be open from 10am-1pm on the second Saturday of each month. We hope these weekend hours will make it easier for families to visit the library. Each Saturday will feature a “Take and Make” craft for children to bring home.

Everyone is welcome. Add a stop at the Library to your trip to the Transfer Station or the Monroe Country Store.
