For August, we’re reading two books with dramatically different perspectives on moving “back-to-the-land”: “Carrying Water as a Way of LIfe” by Maine writer Linda Tatelbaum and Melissa coleman’s memoir, “This Life is in Your Hands.” Tatelbaum and her husband still live on their homestead in Appleton and were recently profiled in the Bangor Daily news. The author will join us on August 20th for a conversation that will feel close to home for many residents of Monroe.

We’re mining our 70’s recipe stash for wholegrain refreshments!
